Driver Services Centers Open For Last-Minute Photo IDs

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn.- The Driver Services Center on Centennial Boulevard is usually closed on the weekends, but they opened on this Saturday to help voters do their part.

"Actually this would be my very first time voting," Netra McClain said.

"I'm changing my address to make sure that I have no problems voting on Tuesday," Sharon Herron added while filling out her paperwork. "It's very important that I make sure my vote counts."

With just three days until the election, campaigns continue to vie for those votes.

"This morning we got started at 10:00 a.m.," campaign volunteer Andrew Anderson said. "We'll finish when the sun just goes out on us, and people don't want to talk anymore."

He went door to door making his pitch to residents.

"People aren't going to vote for you even if you send out the best mailers or give them a sweetheart phone call," Anderson explained. "Unless they meet you or meet someone on your behalf and talk about the issues with you they're not going to go vote for you."

Republicans and Democrats have kicked their campaigns into high gear during the final stretch. They hope their hard work pays off on Tuesday.

"I think most people made up their minds, but the issue is them acting out their intention," campaign volunteer Jerry Harder said.

Sharon Herron has all intentions to vote. Now that her identification is correct, she's one step closer.
