NASHVILLE, Tenn.- A Fort
Campbell solider got a surprise at the Titans game Sunday that left him
speechless. Army Corporal Christopher
Bales was not only presented with an honorary football, but learned he will be
the recipient of a new home.
The announcement came on
the big screen courtesy of country music star Kix Brooks and the Operation
Finally Home organization. The group will build six homes
across the country for wounded veterans.
Bales said it was an
unexpected honor that means a lot.
"It's just pretty
overwhelming. I really wasn't expecting that, so, it's really overwhelming,"
said Bales. "It's very nice when people show their appreciation. So, I think it's
really huge."
Bales's home will be built
starting in January 2013. It will take
about a year to complete the project.
