Officers Pull Man From Burning Vehicle In Hopkinsville

CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Ky. - Authorities in Hopkinsville pulled a man to safety from a burning vehicle overnight.

It happened around 1 a.m. Monday on North Drive, near West 7th Street.

WKDZ reported 33-year old Martez Nelson lost control of his vehicle and struck a bridge. That's when the car went up in flames.

An officer used his baton to smash out a window and pull Nelson out, while other responders put out the fire.

Nelson suffered burns on nearly 40-percent of his body.
