Judge Bars Man From Owning Pets After Animal Cruelty Plea

Posted: Updated:

MCMINNVILLE, Tenn. – A General Sessions judge in McMinnville has sent a strong message to residents: Take care of your pets or you might be banned from owning any animals.

The judge told a Mountain Street man that he may no longer own a pet after he pleaded guilty to animal cruelty.

The judge was so incensed over the condition of the starving dog that he ordered the suspect to pay a $590 vet bill, and then banned him from owning any more animals.

The judge also sent police to search the man's house to make sure no more pets were on the property.
