Squirrel Causes Campus-Wide Power Outage At MTSU

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - A campus-wide power outage at Middle Tennessee State University on Monday was caused by a squirrel.

University officials said the animal damaged the school's electrical grid, shutting off power and phone service for hours.

Crews from MTSU and the Murfreesboro Electric Department worked to restore power on campus for most of the day.Classes were not affected.

Officials expected to have power completely restored by around 5 p.m.
