Man Indicted In Fatal Lane College Shooting

Posted: Updated:

JACKSON, Tenn. (AP) -- A Madison County grand jury has returned an indictment in a fatal shooting on the Lane College campus.

The indictment charges 20-year-old Jeremy Jones with second-degree murder in the death of 21-year-old Justin Clark.

Jackson police say Clark and Jones were friends and had gone to the college's Jackson campus together on Feb. 1. They were not Lane College students.

Police say Clark was involved in a fight with another student and shots were fired. Police say Clark was the only person who was shot.

Clark was taken to a hospital and died the following day. Police said ballistic tests showed Clark was shot by Jones' gun.

Jones is being held in Madison County jail. A sheriff's office receptionist said attorney records were not available after hours Monday.
