DEKALB COUNTY, Tenn. - A man was arrested on several charges after police said he went door-to-door attempting to sell ammunition.
Police said 43-year-old Robert Roy Atnip, Jr. knocked on several doors along Golf Club Lane in Smithville on Saturday afternoon. Several owners called police to report the man trying to sell them ammo.
Responding officers found the man smelled of alcohol. A search of his backpack found drug paraphernalia. They also found a number of knives and a hatchet.
Atnip was charged with carrying a prohibited weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia, and public intoxication.
