NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Police want to identify a hit-and-run driver who struck a pedestrian in north Nashville.
Police said 46-year-old Sharon A. Higgins was struck by a pickup truck around 5:20 p.m. Wednesday in the area of 10th Avenue North and Jefferson Street. Witnesses told police that the white or light beige colored truck pulling a long-trailer struck Higgins stopped briefly, but then took off south on 10th Avenue.
Higgins was taken by ambulance to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she was in critical but stable condition Thursday morning.
Police said Higgins, who was residing at the Union Rescue Mission, smelled strongly of alcohol.
