NASHVILLE, Tenn.- A man who filed suit against one of Nashville's largest churches has dropped his case.
Attorneys said Corey Corbin decided to drop his complaint against Mount Zion Baptist Church and it's pastor, Bishop Joseph Walker. He joined in a lawsuit against the church earlier this year brought by several women accusing Walker of sexual misconduct.
In his case, Corbin said he and his now ex-wife had sought marital counseling from Walker. Corbin alleges Walker started a sexual relationship with Corbin's wife and ruined his marriage. NewsChannel 5 spoke exclusively with him shortly after he filed his 5-million dollar claim.
"I left town. I lost my job and it was a direct link to all this. I've been in a dark place for years. There have been times I have wanted to not be here anymore," he said.
Attorneys said Corbin did not receive any money in his case.
Meanwhile, the lawsuits filed by the women are continuing , they've asked for millions in damages.
Mount Zion officials have strongly denied any wrongdoing, and call the claims made in the lawsuits "ridiculous and sensational."
