Smyrna Officer Taken To Hospital In Weather-Related Crash

SMYRNA, Tenn. – A Smyrna police officer was taken to the hospital following a crash on Monday morning.

Another vehicle hit the police cruiser around 6 a.m. at Sam Ridley and Stonecrest Parkways. The officer, whose identity was not immediately released, was transported to the hospital to be checked out, but was listed in stable condition.

Police said rain was a factor in the crash. There was no word if charges would be filed.

No other details were immediately released.
