MURFREESBORO, Tenn.- A 19-year-old driver was killed in Murfreesboro Monday afternoon after crashing into a utility pole.
Murfreesboro Police said that the Fatal Response Team was investigating the cause of a crash that occurred around 1p.m. on John Rice Boulevard near Gresham Lane. Officials said a black Ford Explorer struck a utility pole after leaving the roadway.
Officials said 19-year-old William Bryant was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the car at the time of the crash, 14-year-old Tommy Bradbury was injured but survived.
A fund has been set up to help pay for funeral costs for Bryant. Donations can be made at any SunTrust bank.
