Rutherford Sheriff's Employee Arrested For Sexual Abuse Of Girls

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – An employee with the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office was arrested after being accused of sexually abusing two middle school girls.

According to the Murfreesboro Police Department, the two teenage girls called 21-year-old Trey Welch after leaving school early on November 2.

The girls reportedly hid in some trees and called Welch for a ride.

The suspect picked the girls up and took them to get something to eat, according to the police report.

After stopping at a convenience store to buy cigarettes for the girls, Welch allegedly took them to his apartment. The girls told police Welch took them into his room where he removed their bras and massaged their backs.

Welch was also accused of fondling the girls and offering money to one of the girls to buy marijuana.

After officers interviewed Welch at the Sheriff's Office, he was taken into custody and charged with two counts of sexual battery and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

We was booked into the Rutherford County Jail.
