NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Two women were arrested after police said they tried to return more than a thousand dollars of stolen merchandise.

Police arrested Rickeita Butler and Chimayne Talley outside the Mall at Green Hills on Wednesday, after they tried to return $1,500 worth of items.

The clerk couldn't process the return because the merchandise was from an outlet, and it was over the allowed transaction limit.

When officers searched the bag, they found multiples of certain items.

Police said both women admitted to stealing it from Opry Mills Mall two weeks ago.
