NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police hope to find the person who stole more than $3,000 worth of lottery scratch-off tickets from a Murfreesboro convenience store.
Surveillance video showed the thief sneaking into a back office of the gas station on Memorial Boulevard, and stealing the surplus tickets out of storage. The tickets are essentially worthless, since they need to be activated on the computer system to payout.
Police said the thief actually came back in later to cash one of the stolen, winning scratch-off tickets. He took off after the clerk refused to pay out.
Anyone with information is asked to call Murfreesboro Police at (615) 893-2717.
