NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Metro Police said an officer who tried to stop a group of guys fooling around on the road had a gun pulled on him.

An officer spotted several men get out of a car at a red light, then run around to switch seats at 19th Avenue North and Herman Street on Thursday night. The officer pulled them over, asked the driver to get out of the car, turn around and face the car.

Police said the driver, identified as 27-year-old Kendrick Hutton, instead tried to run away. An officer tackled him, and during the struggle police said he pulled a silver handgun out of his pocket. The gun then fell to the ground, and went underneath the vehicle.

Hutton admitted to police that the gun belonged to him, and they also found marijuana and cocaine.

Hutton was charged with drug possession, unlawful possession of a weapon, resisting arrest, and aggravated assault of an officer.
