Police Investigate Two Serious Crashes In Murfreesboro
Three vehicle crash on Broad Street near Highway 840.
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Murfreesboro Police are investigating two separate crashes Friday that sent two people to the hospital with serious injuries.
The first happened just after 11 a.m. on Broad Street near Highway 840. Police said three vehicles were involved, and a passenger in one of those vehicles sustained a serious head injury. John Heasley, 35, was taken by LifeFlight to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
The driver of one of the vehicles, 42-year-old Raymond Davy, was arrested on Driving on a Suspended license, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Vehicular Assault charges following the crash.
No other serious injuries were reported in the crash.
The second was a single vehicle crash that occurred around 1 p.m. at the intersection of New Salem/Highway 99 and Middle Tennessee Boulevard. Police said the driver lost control of his vehicle and struck a tree on the side of the roadway.
The driver was also taken by LifeFlight to Vanderbilt.
Both crashes were under investigation by the Fatal Crash Team.
