MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - A robbery suspect was taken into custody Sunday night after being taken down by a K9 officer.

Murfreesboro Police said the suspect robbed a BP gas station on Old Fort Parkway at gunpoint. Immediately they sent officers with dogs to search the area.

One of the dogs was able to chase the suspect and catch him just a block away from the crime scene.

The suspect, whose name was not immediately released, was treated after the dog bit him before being booked on robbery charges.
