NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A convicted felon was arrested after police discovered a dismantled meth lab in his vehicle.
Officers were searching for 39-year-old Shane Chaloux for a domestic assault on Saturday when they spotted his vehicle in the parking lot of the Walmart on Charlotte Pike. During a search of the SUV, police found a semi-automatic pistol and items from a dismantled meth lab, including sulfuric acid, Coleman fuel, ground pseudoephedrine, coffee filters, rubber tubing and baggies.
Detectives from the Specialized Investigation responded to the scene and neutralized the components.
Chaloux was convicted of aggravated assault in Henry County in 2008. He was charged with promoting meth manufacture, unlawful firearm possession by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm in the commission of a dangerous crime, domestic assault and driving on a suspended license.
He was jailed in lieu of $82,000 bond.
