NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Nashville residents were able to get a unique sneak peak at the US Capitol Christmas Tree as it made its way cross county.

The 73-ft. Engelmann Spruce was in downtown Nashville Monday night on its 3,000 mile cross-country trek to Washington D-C. During the tree's Nashville visit local residents were treated to a special performance by country singer Lindsay Lawler along with ornament decorating and photo ops with Santa Claus himself.

The tree was harvested in Meeker, Colorado near the edge of the White River National Forest.

"The People's Tree"  was on display at Bridgestone Arena Monday night until 8 p.m.
