KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A jury in Tennessee will continue deliberations Tuesday in the retrial of a Kentucky woman who is accused of facilitation in a Knoxville torture killing case.

The Knoxville News Sentinel reported jurors from Jackson, Tennessee, listened to closing arguments on Monday in Knoxville before beginning deliberations in the second trial for Vanessa Coleman of Lebanon, Ky. They stopped deliberating at 5:30 p.m. and will return Tuesday morning.

Coleman is charged with 17 counts of facilitation of murder, kidnapping and rape in the 2007 attack on 21-year-old Channon Christian. Coleman was acquitted in her first trial of any crimes committed against Christian's boyfriend, 23-year-old Christopher Newsom.

A new trial was ordered after the trial judge acknowledged drug use during her first trial. Jurors must decide whether she provided "substantial assistance" to three men accused of killing the couple.
