Two Teens Shot In North Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Two teenagers were shot in North Nashville Wednesday afternoon.

The shooting occurred just after 12:30 p.m. near the area of 16th Avenue North and Heiman Street. Police said 19-year-old Dallas Cato, who was out of jail on a delayed sentence, was visiting family at a home on Heiman Street.

Investigators said he received a phone call and he was shot when he went outside to take it. He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Police said a short time after 18-year-old Deondre Dean showed up at Metro General Hospital with a gunshot wound. His injuries were also non-life threatening.
 
Police think the shootings were related, and both men have criminal records.

Police have not yet determined a motive for the shooting.
