MACON COUNTY, Tenn. – An Endangered Child Alert has been canceled after three children missing from Macon County were found safe.
Officials with the Lafayette Police Department said 6-year-old Cadence Summers, 5-year-old Clayton Summers and 2-year-old Olivia Summers were with their non-custodial mother, Lashawna Summers.
They were supposed to be turned over to their father on Wednesday, but they were not.
Officials were able to locate the children safely with their mother, who police said heard a judge was going to order she give the kids to their dad, so she got scared and took off.
When she saw the Alert on the news, she headed back to the police station and returned the kids.
Police said Summers was never actually served court papers, so she won't likely face any charges.
