Logan Blakeley
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Clarksville Police discovered $30,000 in alleged drug money during a DUI traffic stop on Thanksgiving morning.
An officer noticed a car sitting at a green light at the intersection of Madison Street and Richview Road around 3 a.m. Thursday. When he went to check on the driver, he found 21-year-old Logan Blakeley, of Chattanooga, passed out with the engine running.
The officer smelled alcohol, and found Blakeley was slow to react to instructions as well as unsteady on his feet. He was taken into custody after he failed field sobriety tests.
The officer also discovered an orange case in the car that contained a metal pipe, marijuana, rolling papers, and a vacuum sealed freezer bag. Once the vacuum sealed bag was opened, they discovered $30,000 in cash.
During an interview, police learned Blakeley was in town for a visit, and the money was proceeds from drug sales.
The money was seized.
Blakeley was booked into the Montgomery County jail on charges of DUI, simple possession, and unlawful drug paraphernalia.
