Christmas Preparations Underway Across Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — While some are still enjoying Thanksgiving leftovers, others are already gearing up for Christmas.

Customers are already lining up at the Christmas Tree Village at Hillsboro High School to pick out their perfect tree. Owners expect to stay busy up until Christmas Eve.

"We've been coming here for years," said customer Nejeer Zebari. "We like this place. The day after Thanksgiving you usually get the better trees."

Employees said they see many of the same customers come back each year. They think, for many picking out a Christmas tree is the first step towards getting into the holiday spirit.

"When you put one of these trees in your house," said Manager Joel Wilson. "Within a couple of days, it ought to be against the law it smells so good."

Others are focusing on decorating the outside of their homes. Kevin Lee and his crew from Christmas Light Pros are working seven days a week to handle all the requests.

"Some homes require 3000 feet of garland and up to 30,000 lights," said Lee. "We just want to bring holiday cheer and joy and lighten up everyone's holiday season."

The dazzling light displays are starting to pop up in neighborhoods around Nashville. Lee said he has done several homes in the Annandale community already.

"We come up with an individual scheme for each client," said Lee. "We want something that looks even and balanced, and everyone can enjoy."

Both Lee and Wilson said the rush of customers will continue throughout December, and said it has been a welcome sight.
