Woman Dies In High-Speed Crash

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn.- A high-speed collision killed a woman from Bowling Green on Saturday. Police say Evelyn Ray, 86, died after failing to yield to oncoming traffic on Highway 76 in Clarksville.

Investigators say there were no signs that either driver tried to slow down. Ray's car was smashed when the other driver hit her driver's side door. The other driver, Maurice Pitts, 26, suffered multiple leg fractures. He is recovering at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
