Fight Between Roommates Leads To Attempted Murder Charges
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police have charged a man with attempted murder after he allegedly stabbed his roommate inside a Nashville motel.
Officials said 29-year-old Charles Woodrome was arrested Tuesday. Woodrome and his roommate, 53-year-old Jerry D. Russell, got into an argument that became physical at the Madison Motel on north Gallatin Pike where they were staying.
During the subsequent fight, Woodrome claimed Russell tried to rape him so he grabbed a hammer and tried to hit Russell with it.
At some point, police believe that Woodrome pulled a knife and stabbed Russell multiple times. Another motel guest, hearing the commotion, called police.
Russell was found sitting outside the room covered in blood. He was taken by ambulance to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in in critical but stable condition. Detectives have not
Woodrome was charged with attempted murder and was being held in lieu of $250,000 bond.
