Attempted Carjacking Reported In Franklin Subdivision
FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Authorities in Williamson County are investigating an attempted carjacking in a Franklin subdivision.
The Williamson County Sheriff's Office said a woman was getting out of her car at her home in the Cottonwood subdivision around 8:30 p.m. Monday when a man armed with a handgun jumped into the passenger side of her vehicle.
The woman told deputies the man ordered her to drive around and demanded money.
She reported they drove around the area, but she was able to escape the vehicle when he told her to stop and give him money. She ran toward some nearby houses, and was not hurt.
The carjacker was last seen running from the Lynnwood Park area. Police described him as a black male, around 5'6" to 5'8", approximately 150 to 160 pounds and possibly in his early twenties.
