Lipscomb University Holds The Lighting Of The Green

NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Lipscomb University has kicked off the holiday season with the 8th annual Lighting of the Green.

As part of the Christmas tree lighting ceremony the school held a large outdoor concert featuring Nashville's own Amy Grant, Michelle Swift and the Lipscomb student choruses. In addition to the concert festival goers were treated to free photos with Santa and a Merry Marketplace. Inside the Merry Marketplace attendants could purchase items benefiting scholarships to Lipscomb.

The evening concluded with the lighting of the 30 foot tall Christmas tree in Allen Arena. The honorary tree lighter this year was local beloved icon, Ms. Cheap, Mary Hance.
