Shelbyville Teen Killed In Fiery Crash In Hermitage

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police have identified the teenager who was killed in a fiery crash in Hermitage early Thursday morning.

Police said 18-year-old Taylor Garretson, of Shelbyville, lost control of his Chevrolet pickup in a curve of Saundersville Road, and crashed into a tree off the side of the roadway just after 3 a.m.

The truck burst into flames and Garretson was unable to escape from the car. Police said Garretson was badly burned, delaying positive identification of his body.

Saundersville Road was closed until about 7:15 a.m. while authorities investigated the crash.
