Michael and Amanda McCarrell
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Two people were arrested on sex charges after police caught them with a teenage girl they brought to Nashville from Kentucky after meeting her online.
Michael and Amanda McCarrell, ages 46 and 27, were charged with sexual exploitation of a minor and contributed to the delinquency of a minor.
Officers made a routine stop of their car for failure to use a turn signal along Murfreesboro Road on Wednesday night, and discovered a 17-year-old sitting between the couple in the front seat.
When police questioned the couple about the teen, they told them they met her online on Flirtomatic.com, and that they did know she was underage until they picked her up.
The couple said they did not know her name and confessed to picking her up in Kentucky to bring her to East Tennessee with plans to have sex.
Police said the indication was that the teen went willingly.
After asking permission, an officer searched Michael McCarrell's phone and found suggestive text messages as well as explicit pictures of the teen, and later found he had sent her explicit pictures as well.
Detectives contacted the teen's parents in Glasgow, Kentucky, and her father had no idea she had been taken from the state. She was taken back home.
Michael McCarrell was also charged with driving on a suspended license and possession of a revoked license.
