Two Crashes Slow Traffic On I-24W In Rutherford County
RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn. - At least two people were injured in two separate crashes that blocked Interstate 24 westbound in Rutherford County during the morning commute on Monday.
Injuries were reported in the first crash involving three vehicles around 8 a.m. at mile marker 64.
At least two people were injured in the second crash around 9 a.m. at mile marker 66. Officials said a Nissan Altima stalled on the interstate, and a Cadillac was stopped behind it when a Dodge pickup truck slammed into the back of the Cadillac.
The driver of the Dodge was transported by EMS ground with injuries. The driver of the Cadillac was taken by LifeFlight to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with injuries. The driver of the Altima was not injured.
In Wilson County, another crash blocked traffic around 6:50 a.m. on Highway 109 North at Burton Road, north of Highway 70. It was unclear if there were injuries.
