Clarksville Police Search For Serial Shoplifter

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - Police in Clarksville are searching for a woman they call a "serial shoplifter".

Officials said Shanta Griffin has four theft warrants on file and is a suspect in several other shoplifting cases. According to police, in three of the theft cases Griffin approached the store clerk to purchase two cartons of cigarettes. She would then ask for a third carton and while the clerk's back was turned take the two packs and run away.

Police also said she stole a large amount of children's clothing from a store.

She was last seen in a 97 Dodge Dakota, Green, with a North Carolina tag, BCW3192. Police described her as being 5'5, 300 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts was asked to call Clarksville Police at 931-645-8477.
