Convicted Felon Charged After Running Away From Traffic Stop

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A convicted felon was arrested after allegedly trying to outrun police and attempting to get rid of a weapon.

An affidavit said 19-year-old Quintel Hudson jumped out the vehicle and ran away after an officer stopped the car he was a passenger in for driving 44 miles per hour in a 35 mile-per-hour zone.

Police said he threw a handgun underneath a nearby car while he ran.

Police recovered the weapon, which had the serial number filed off. They also recovered marijuana from inside the car.

Hudson was later caught, and charged with evading arrest, unlawful possession of a weapon, and drug possession.

Hudson had previously been convicted of robbery, according to police.
