CLAY COUNTY, Tenn. – Clay County Schools and Van Buren County Schools will close for the rest of the week due to illness, school officials announced Tuesday.
Both school systems will close Wednesday through Friday due to many students being sick with flu-like symptoms. They will return to school on Monday, December 10.
In Van Buren County, officials said 17 percent of students were absent for illness.
Last week, both Stewart and Macon County schools closed for several days due to illness.
