NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Police have arrested an ex-con and charged him with stabbing a homeless man multiple times earlier this week.
Metro Police arrested 26-year-old Robert Earl Dodson on Wednesday. According to officials, the 34-year-old Scottie Selvage, told police three men and woman picked him up in a green SUV, and took him to Peeler Park around 8 a.m. He told police he had been involved in a dispute with one of the men, named Robert, earlier in the week.
Selvage said they discussed marijuana usage, and were on the greenway when Robert pulled a knife and stabbed him several times.
Robert and the other three, who Selvage said were named Kevin, Cody, and Pam, fled the scene.
A passerby found Selvage and called 911. Selvage was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he was said to be in stable condition.
Police have charged Robert Dodson with attempted murder in the stabbing and said that he had previously been convicted of aggravated sexual battery against a child in 2006.
