NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Christmas
came early for hundreds of elementary students. Saturday, Hands on Nashville
gave away 200 like-new bikes to kids who may not otherwise get a gift-filled Christmas.
As part of the ReCYCLE program, they take old, unused bikes, spruce them up,
and give them to children in need. The children also get a new helmet and a
safety demonstration.
Volunteers hope it will
give the kids a sense of independence, not to mention great exercise. One
hundred more bikes will be given away this coming week.
