NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Police have identified the man who was killed when he drove his car off an exit ramp off Interstate 40 in Hermitage.

Police said 34-year-old Shawn Granato was getting on I-40 West from Old Hickory Boulevard around 3 a.m. Sunday when he entered a curve and drove off the ramp. His car fell 20 feet onto the interstate below, and he died at the scene.

Investigators said he wasn't wearing a seatbelt.

Police said there was no evidence of alcohol or drug involvement at the scene.

The section of the interstate was closed for several hours while police looked into what caused the accident.
