Storms Possible As Cold Front Approaches

Posted: Updated:

NASHVILLE, Tenn.- According to the National Weather Service, there's a chance for a few strong to severe thunderstorms overnight in northern Alabama and portions of southern Middle Tennessee as a cold front approaches the Tennessee Valley.

Strong to damaging winds will be the main threat associated with any storms that arrive ahead of the front. The cold front will track from west to east across the Tennessee Valley on Monday morning producing a round of strong to possibly severe thunderstorms.

The strongest storms will be capable of producing strong to damaging winds with speeds up to 70 mph possible. The thunderstorm threat is expected to end late Monday afternoon as the front tracks off to our southeast.
