MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - An armed robber threatened a pregnant clerk at a Murfreesboro gas station overnight, and took off with thousands of dollars' worth of lottery tickets.
Police said the suspect was wearing a black hoodie when he threatened the clerk with a gun at the Shell Station on North Rutherford Boulevard around 1 a.m. Monday. He grabbed the entire plastic box on the counter full of thousands of lottery tickets.
He took off on foot, lugging the box with him.
Nearby police responded to the scene and gave chase. At some point, the suspect tossed the lottery box, his gun, and his clothing in a dumpster.
He was last seen running away in his underwear.
Police recovered the lottery tickets and the gun. They are now checking to see if there was surveillance video of the crime.
