Posted: Updated:

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) - A Chattanooga-based transportation company said it will add more than 500 jobs across the next five years in Tennessee.

According to the Chattanooga Times Free Press, officials of Access America Transport said the company will more than double in size during that time.

The company website describes Access America as a full-service transportation company that handles all modes of transportation including truckload, less-than-truckload, intermodal and specialized freight.

The company serves as a middleman between shippers and trucking companies.

Company CEO Ted Alling said the company will hire 450 people in Chattanooga and 100 in Knoxville. Officials said Access America has a median pay of $72,000 per year.
