Babysitter Charged With Murder In 2-Month-Old’s Death
NASHVILLE, Tenn.- A 57-year-old babysitter has been charged with first degree murder after the death of a 2-month-old baby left in her care.
Metro Police arrested Mary Ann Lane Saturday night in connection with the death of Maddox Roberts. Officials said she told them that she tripped and fell while holding Maddox causing him to hit the floor.
Paramedics responding to Lane's 911 call were able to stabilize the baby, but he later died at the hospital. According to officials the autopsy showed extensive head injuries that didn't match up with Lane's claim of a fall and the Medical Examiner's Office ruled it a homicide.
Lane was being held in the Metro Jail on a $200,000 bond.
