Fatal Wreck Closes Pennyrile Parkway

CHRISTIAN COUNTY, KY.- A fatal crash closed the northbound lanes of Pennyrile Parkway for several hours Monday afternoon.

Officials with the Kentucky State Patrol said that both northbound lanes of Pennyrile Parkway near mile marker 5 would be closed for at least two hours while crews investigated a serious crash. Traffic was detoured onto US-41 near Interstate 24 while the roadway was closed.

At least one person was killed in the crash, although officials have not released the victim's name or age. It was not clear what cause the crash or how many people were involved.
