WASHINGTON, D.C- A newly released public poll shows that Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is the most unpopular Senator in the country.

The poll revealed that the Republican lawmaker has a 55% disapproval rating and only 37% of Kentucky voters approve of him. Even with Republicans, McConnell is well below the 70 to 80-percent approval range expected for a Senator within their own party.

Also according to the figures from Public Policy Polling, Ashley Judd is the clear choice of Democratic primary voters to be their candidate in 2014. Twenty-nine percent say the actress and advocate would be their first pick, and would trail McConnell by just four points in a hypothetical matchup.
