NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- It was the kind of day on the calendar we won't see for about another 100 years: 12/12/12.

Folks across the mid state took advantage of the unique day on the calendar.

Michael Durham and Starr Signs were just one of several couples who told us they were getting married Wednesday.

The two of them got engaged earlier this year and said they wanted to tie the knot on 12/12/12 at 12 noon.

"It's the last repetitive date we'll have for 100 years, that's one reason," said Durham.  "we kind of thought about 10/11/12, but we decided to go to 12/12/12."

At Baptist hospital we met up with newborn Shiloh Irene Campbell, born after 4 a.m. to parents Molly and Blake Campbell.

"12/12/12 is a pretty cool birthday and we were definitely watching the clock," said Molly Campbell.  "We were waiting to see if it was going to be 12:12 on 12/12/12 but we didn't make that one -- that would have been really cool."

The Tennessee Lottery told NewsChannel 5 they had to stop people from picking the numbers 1-2-1-2 on the Cash 4 Midday and Evening drawing Wednesday because they had reached their liability limit of $5 million in sales.
