JACKSON, Tenn. (AP) - A plea bargain has brought a Jackson man 35 years in prison in a hammer beating death.
Reuben Fairfield entered a guilty plea to second-degree murder and evidence tampering on Tuesday. The Jackson Sun reported Fairfield had been indicted on a first-degree murder charge in the February killing of 27-year-old Lionel Harris.
Fairfield is also 27.
After the sentencing, Harris' father, Lawrence Harris, said it was fair.
