NASHVILLE, Tenn.- A 46-year-old Nashville woman has been charged in two separate convenience store robberies.
Police said Betsy James, 46, took several packs of cigarettes and $150 cash from the Shell convenience store on Murfreesboro Pike early Thursday morning. Shortly after the robbery a canine officer tracked James to a nearby apartment building. When officers approached the apartment, James answered the door and officers were able to see several packs of unopened cigarettes in plain view.
Upon questioning James admitted to the robbery as well as a robbery of a Mapco Store on Lebanon Pike on December 6th. When taken into custody police discovered James and a handgun in her waistband and a glass pipe in her pocket. She was charged with two counts of aggravated robbery, resisting arrest, unlawful weapon possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.
She was taken to the Davidson County Jail where she was being held on a $85,000 bond.
