NASHVILLE, Tenn. – A man was arrested overnight for allegedly trespassing at a home linked to Taylor Swift.

24-year old Jacob Kulke was booked at around 2 a.m. Friday on a criminal trespassing charge. According to an affidavit, Kulke went to the estate in Belle Meade, climbed a fence and a secured gate.

When he ran into security he claimed that he was in contact with the person at the address through social media, that he was dating her and that he wanted to surprise her for her birthday. Incidentally, Taylor, who is currently overseas, celebrated her 23rd birthday on Thursday.

He claimed he had taken a bus from Wisconsin, and then a taxi from the Nashville bus stop. Police also said he had a knife on him when he was arrested.

Taylor Swift reportedly purchased the 6,000 square foot mansion for family members last year; it was purchased by a trustee who handles property deals for Swift.

Kulke told police he had social media ties to someone at the home and he wanted to surprise her for her birthday. Court records don't show if he has a lawyer.

The affidavit indicates that IT personnel confirmed there had not been any "social media" contact between Kulke and Swift; however, NewsChannel 5 discovered a Twitter believed to belong to Kulke where he wished her "Happy Birthday" on Thursday.

Only two days ago, Swift interviewed with Cosmopolitan magazine about stalkers, and said that stalker incidents made her nervous.

NewsChannel 5 has learned that Kulke had previously been arrested for second degree burglary in Colorado in April, and there is a warrant out for his arrest in Colorado for a probation violation.

He was held in the Davidson County jail on $10,000 bond. A fugitive from justice warrant has been issued for Kulke in Colorado.

He is set to be in court next week.
