ROBERTSON COUNTY, Tenn. – Authorities arrested a Greenbrier man overnight for making threats toward law enforcement.
James Larry Beard, 45, was charged with harassment. Authorities said Beard initially called a Department of Human Resources office shortly after noon Tuesday, made demands and said he was going to "shoot the place up."
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation was notified, began investigating, and said Beard expressed anger toward the government and law enforcement.
A warrant was issued for his arrest, and deputies with the Robertson County Sheriff's Office and officers with the Millersville Police Department located him along Interstate 65. During his transport to the Robertson County jail, authorities said he threatened to kill one of the TBI Special Agents who was investigating him.
He was held at the jail without bond. He is scheduled to be in court Thursday.
