Clarksville Man Added To TBI's Top 10 Most Wanted List

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - A Clarksville man wanted for questioning in a September murder has been added to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's Top Ten Most Wanted fugitive list.

Danyon Dowlen, 39, is wanted by the Clarksville Police Department on one count of being a felon in possession of a handgun.

Police said a witness identified Dowlen as the man who shot Charles Sims in the area of Reynolds and Dodd Streets on September 18. Sims was shot multiple times, and later died from his injuries.

The witness told police that Dowlen and Sims had gotten into a confrontation before the shooting and that Dowlen had a gun.

Dowlen is a convicted felon, so police took out a warrant for his arrest. His criminal history dates back to 1992, and includes numerous charges including evading arrest, drugs for resale- cocaine, possession of a weapon during a felony, assault, violation of parole, aggravated assault, reckless driving, criminal impersonation, possession of a controlled substance, aggravated criminal trespassing, violation of probation and vandalism.

Police said he has tattoos on his abdomen, back, chest and both arms. He is also known to be in the company of Tavares Raphel Trotter, who also has outstanding warrants for his arrest.

Dowlen is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information is asked to call the TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND.
