Man Charged After Stealing Packages From Porches

NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Metro Police have arrested a man accused of stealing Christmas packages delivered to resident's porches.

Police said Kory Harding had been spotted driving around the Southfork subdivision in Old Hickory looking for Fed Ex, UPS and Postal Service parcels that had been delivered to front porches. When police located him, Harding had over a dozen packages in his car, none of which were addressed to him.

In addition to the gifts found in his car, police found a number of other stolen presents at his 16th Avenue North home.

Officials said all the packages were returned to the original carriers for redelivery. Upon further investigation it was determined that Harding had a several previous convictions including attempted robbery in 1999, felony cocaine possession in 2000 and unlawful firearm possession that same year.

Harding was charged with felony theft, driving on a suspended license and unlawful gun possession by a convicted felon.
